Volunteers

We currently have no programs running.  If/when we are to offer volunteer opportunities, the following info would apply:

As a completely volunteer run organization, Challenge Sports of California couldn't survive without the dedication and compassion of our volunteers. The primary source of our volunteer helpers comes from local public and parochial High Schools and community members including siblings. Many of our coaches are parents and other adults that are sensitive to our unique player population. We are fortunate to have these organizations and families supporting our sports programs.

The students we have participating in Challenge Sports as volunteers have a life changing experience in working with our children. Most of our volunteers have never had the opportunity to interact with children and young adults within the special needs community.

What they come away with is a new sense of understanding about this group of athletes who work hard, play hard, help each other and enjoy teamwork as much as any sports participant in any sports program. They learn compassion and humility and that they can be real role models for our players. Being a Challenge Sports Volunteer is fun and rewarding.
