Being a Volunteer - The following info is informational only, as we are currently unable to offer any  programs or leagues.

It’s easy to join as a volunteer at Challenge Sports and it can be a very rewarding experience for both you and the Challenge Sports Athletes. There are many of benefits in volunteering:

Gaining a New Life Experience

Many of us never has the opportunity to get involved with or understand the Special Needs Community. There is a huge appreciation of this community that comes from volunteering with Challenge Sports and the learning curve is small to understand that our players love every part of sports just like you do. They may have differing abilities but their goals and aspirations are the same as yours and mine, to be treated with kindness, to have the same opportunities to enjoy life, and to be regarded with respect and dignity.

Challenge Yourself

Getting out of your comfort zone is sometimes hard to imagine doing, but one day of volunteering at Challenge Sports will convince you that it’s not hard to hang out with our players.  In fact, you will probably smile more every Sunday than you do all week!

Social Interaction

Having the opportunity to meet new people and spend time with them is a great way to make friends. Our players, while perhaps not as adapt at as many things as their neuro-typical peers, are very into social media and getting to know their helpers. Many of our volunteers work with the same player for several years and make long-term friendships.

Your Promise

The commitment you make to Challenge Sports Athletes can be as short as 8 weeks or as long as 4 months.  Some of our volunteers even participate year round in all of our leagues.  The is always a program running, so please contact us if you are interested in finding out more about our volunteer opportunities, where you can help and inspire an individual walking a different life path, while changing your life and outlooks for the better as well.

It’s easy to volunteer!

Any of our coaches will be happy to answer any questions you might have and tell you about any of our programs.  A Volunteer form, available under the Forms tab or the Volunteer tab, is all that’s needed (For those ages 14 – 18, you and a parent or guardian will both need to sign). You can fax, email or snail mail the form or bring it with you on the first day of the season you are participating in. A short orientation is given to all new and returning volunteers on the first day of your participation.

For Student Volunteers

Expand your reach and value – These days, a well rounded student is now the student that is in high demand by most colleges. Having a consistent history of volunteering during your high school experience is a valuable asset to have when you start looking at colleges and universities.

You can contact us directly about volunteering - we’d love to hear from you and are always on the lookout for motivated, friendly, open-minded and committed volunteers. In addition, many schools have a Community Service Coordinator that should be contacted regarding Challenge Sports in order to ascertain your schools community service requirements (if any) are met.
